March 3rd
My first journal entry will cover more than just the events of February,
as I'll need to fill in some holes between the end of my bio, and today,
March 3rd. I started the New Year right, by getting my 2nd car. This one,
unlike my last, went in both forward and reverse. Honda's known reliability
led me to purchase a Civic. The next month consisted of driving in 10
minute intervals, the nefarious product of a failing cooling system. Many
dollars later, the Civic was fixed...approximately 48 hourse later, it
was stolen. Another 72 hours transpired before my Civic, correction, the
remains of my Civic were found. I know that analyzing the mind of a thief
is complicated...allow me to illustrate why. Here is what was taken off
my car.
- Two Honda bucket seats.
- 4 Spark Plug Wires
- 1 Chrome Exhaust Tip
- 1 16" Wheel
- 1 CD Deck, minus faceplate
- 1 Nametag
- 1 Belt
- 1 Spark Plug
- 1 Intake and Air Filter
- Registration and Insurance Information
- 1 License Plate 728-MPZ
My father came over from California, and a friend came down from Flagstaff.
Another friend let us use his driveway (I live in an apartment), and the
four of us set to work. 48 hours later, we had one restored, nonfunctional
car. Nonfunctional?? Yes - the cylinder head had cracked, the head gasket
had blown, and coolant leaked into the spark plug cylinders. $2200 later,
my Civic is still not running. This brings us to today, my car is still
in the shop, and I'm a pedestrian. I hope that my next journal entry brings
good news.
