Sebadoh and Sonic Youth, should be pretty good, plus its a benefit show for families who have children with autism, so you can pat yourself on the back for being a humanitarian whilst you rock out.

Conference, Trade Show, Panels, and 200+ bands (a couple of them are even good ones). If you can't fork out the big bucks for the fancy all access gold badge, you can still attend individual shows for the regular show prices, some events are even free.

South By Southwest Music and Media Conference and Festival
If you are in the industry, or if you are just rich and can afford a week or two and $500-$700, this is an event worth checking out. There are a couple hundred bands, and all kinds of exhibits, guests, and music and film industry people all about. I have been hearing about it out here in Boston, and am aware of a couple people that are flying out for it. I do not have that kind of clout yet, who knows, maybe next year.

Coachella Music Festival
Here is one event that makes me wish I still lived out there. Every year I have to hear about how great Coachella was, yeah yeah yeah.

This year the big three are going to be The Cure, Radiohead, and The Pixies. Plus the tons of other rock and electronic acts over the two days that have made Coachella the event of events in the Desert. For more info check out Coachella website.
